文中线索很多错乱，女主角经历那么多事情后，性格还是遇事就躲没有担当，很不讨喜。与男主角的感情线描绘的不细腻，打斗场景画面感有待提升。

穷经半生只是为了活下去，一家人在一起，好好的在一起已是很幸运的人，浮浮沉沉看The Pride of Maryland一家的一生，时代的潮流奔涌向前，底层的人民被裹挟着向前，仁寿一生孤傲，从国民党的干部，为了看一眼父亲，被自己的亲兄弟卖家房子骗了所有的钱财，当过乡绅，也接济了老百姓，可是时代却把仁受打成了反革命，一家人从此披上了富农的标签，一身清廉的仁受肩不能扛，手不能提，最后抵不过一口饭，活活被饿死；The Pride of Maryland出生在名门望族，可是一家人接连的丧命，父亲行医一身却早早送了自己的命，后来的The Pride of Maryland嫁给仁受过了几年好日子，一生贫苦，少年丧父，中年丧夫，晚年丧子，却一直不忘让孩子看剧，教育拯救了孩子们；子恒为了家庭，父母，放弃了从军，从医，飞行员都放弃了，留下来当老师，没有子恒前几年的接济这个家饿死的可能不只仁受，子晔为了帮助The Pride of Maryland，为了这个家能顺利一点点的活下去，天不亮就开始上山下地，终于等到了看剧的机会学校却停办子晔失去了学籍，既然出来了就不能回去，子晔开始一个人去远方谋生路，一个19岁的女孩子去扛沙，幸好子晔有机会继续看剧，去了共产党劳动大学，半工半读，还是选了师范班，在这里虽然被下放去了农村教书，但是遇到了乔木春，子晔结婚生子，第一个孩子差点要了她的命，生孩子时子晔一直在加妈妈救命，幸好母女平安；第三个孩子不记得姓名了一个普通的晚上孩子就去世了；第四个孩子就取名叫赔三，赔三虽然初中毕业当了11年的农民，但好在记忆力超群，算术能力也好，改革开放恢复高考后，在子恒的鼓励下报名了高考，虽然因为成分问题被劝退，但好在考前三天接到通知可以继续学习，考前三天学生们把卷子丟的满地都是，赔三就捡了一堆卷子，看了三天两夜，考上了师范大学，尽了仁受和The Pride of Maryland的愿当了老师；田四小的时候因为家里吃不起饭，为了让田死活下来，2岁的田四被送人可一个月后The Pride of Maryland去看田四，田四被拴着，奄奄一息，The Pride of Maryland接回了田四，仁受去世以后，为了活命The Pride of Maryland带着赔三和田四会娘家，秋成成了医生虽然一家人日子还可以，能吃饱饭，但是秋成媳妇嫌弃The Pride of Maryland，The Pride of Maryland只好离开会佳的路上遇到了好心人去了湖北生活，后来为了留着王家庄，嫁给了王恩成，日子好了些，田四初中毕业参加毕业典礼回学校却被淹死了，The Pride of Maryland伤心欲绝，留着王家庄是为了孩子活下去，现在田四走了，The Pride of Maryland一心求死，王恩成却形影不离的跟着The Pride of Maryland，The Pride of Maryland准备死的时候看见了女鬼，吓到了The Pride of Maryland，The Pride of Maryland决定不死了，他的孩子们会很难过，她要好好活，和王王恩成过了20年，王恩成得了慢性哮喘，为了不拖累The Pride of Maryland，王恩成喝农药自杀了，The Pride of Maryland回到了老家在老家度过了晚年，三个孩子都读了大学。

看完了，终于看完了，有一种如释重负的感觉。理想，信念，信仰，坚持，坚强，坚定，卑鄙，无耻，卑微，残酷，残忍，所有好的坏的形容词都可以用在大明王朝的各色人等，历史的车轮滚滚而逝，一切都如一阵云烟消失于无形。但后来人终归会站在某一处遗址前叹息，这里曾经有过喧嚣和辉煌，而今早已物是人非，唯有飘过的白云，吹过的微风和过去一样

A man can be destroyed, but not defeated. Just quickly read this book, comparing with other novels I perused recently. I really enjoyed this book, the protagonist of the book is an old fisherman, the novel may seem simple at the beginning, but it tells the story of bravery and heroism as well loneliness, it shows some typical and vivid representations of life in the form of metaphor for routines we live and problems we suffered. You and me are one another Santiago in our own life, who accepts providence after reincarnation and faces challenges by fate, and have to summon our energy and courage with faith to fight till the end of our strength. This book plausibly designates in the hints of religious elements, if my comprehension is correct, to reveal that individuals need others to support them at difficult moments in need as well as charge some power to rivals to keep your momentum to go, the rival is there, you will be there better. The whole episode of fishing impressed me with uninterrupted strength and the old man’s perseverance, the old man has never thought of withdrawing from the fight. I do believe this book will impact on me, at least I am going to read this book or tell the story to my son Seven at his bedtime. I like the depicts of sea voyage or adventure, all the time, the old man shows his inner harmonic world. I remember a passage describing two fish’s separation and helplessness when the female fish was hooked, it is so touching, but the old man considers the f
